Euclid's Life

As nobody knows much about Euclid's life, I am not sure whether his life changed because of The Elements or not. I think it would've changed it slightly, being an author and all, but I don't think it changed it dramatically. Of course, he wouldn't have known it yet, but because of The Elements, our lives have changed completely, as you will find out as you read on. But I suppose he must have kept on teaching, maybe he started teaching with his own book that he published! So in conclusion I am not sure whether his life changed because of The Elements or not.

Euclid lived a long time ago in Greece and Egypt, living from about 330 BC -220 BC, but if he was alive in 19th century England he might have had some problems. First, schooling might have been a lot different than it was in Greece at 200 BC. Then geometry would be different because as he basically invented geometry, what he found out was based on his tools and education.  This is because in the 19th century they had more knowledge about the world and knew more about math than in 200 or so BC. Back then, everybody thought the world was flat. If you claimed that the world was flat today, you would be laughed at. The same thing would happen if you said the world was round when Euclid was alive. Euclid's ideas depended on the knowledge of the world right then. We are quite lucky that Euclid lived in the same place and time that he did.
